SUNDANCE CHANNEL PRESENTS:
MACARTHUR PARK
Directed by Billy Wirth
Feature
No one has his rap down better than Cody (Thomas Jefferson Byrd), a jazz trumpeter who traded his horn for a crack-pipe and, in so doing, lost his music, his wife and his son. While plagued by regret, his status among the junkies and the lure of his next high keep him rooted in The Park.
When redemption finally calls, Cody doesn't know whether to crave it or fear it. Brilliantly acted with a cast that includes: Julie Delpy; rappers B-Real (of Cypress Hill), Bad Azz, and Sticky Fingaz (of Onyx) as a velvet-tongued pimp; Sydney Tamiia Poitier as his latest recruit; Miguel Nuqez as Cody's scamming pal and Balthazar Getty as Cody's latest client - a coked-up TV star.
The film features music composed by Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction and a vivid hip-hop soundtrack, including Macy Gray's exclusive recording of "MacArthur Park. (2001) Color (88 mins)
