HICC proudly presents the 7 Annual Office Professionals’ Day Luncheon to honor our hard-working office professionals in our businesses. This year, we are showcasing Danny Couch, the extraordnarily talented and versatile singer, as well as an accomplished musician, writer, arranger and producer. With his gentle warmth, inimitable style and dazzling voice, he will thrill and delight our office pros as he has his many fans from the islands and around the world.
Danny wrote his first song at the young age of twelve and afew years later, the song, “From My Heart,” won Song of the Year in the 1985 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He starred with the Don Ho Show in 1980 through 1990 and, was a featured entertainer, who captivated and enchanted everyone visiting the Hilton Hawaiian Village Dome. He has appeared on many television shows, and in 1984, won the Hawaii auditions for Star Search and went on to perform in the nationally televised competition. He appeared on the Dolly Parton Show in 1988, which included a solo performance as well as a duet with Dolly. Additionally, “Ah My Hawaii” now known as “I Love Hawaii,” a song, which Danny wrote, was the show’s theme song. His song, “These Islands,” from his “Almost Paradise” CD, was the theme song for the 1998 Miss Universe Pageant. This song was also used by the Hawaii Visitors Bureau for many years, in a video campaign promoting Hawaii and was seen on television, worldwide. Currently, the Hawaii Convention Center is using “These Islands” to promote and attract conventions to Hawaii.
This truly gifted and talented entertainer has performed for such stars as Frank Sinatra, Englebert Humperdink, Tom Jones, Barbra Streisand, the cast of “Charlie’s Angel’s and at the Governor’s Mansion for various visiting dignitaries. He has opened for many of the world’s top acts: Glen Campbell, Neil Sedaka, Sheckie Green, Sheena Easton, Al Green, Dionne Warrick, Paul Anka and Sergio Mendez as well as receiving offers to perform from many others.
We are excited about presenting this exceptionally talented multiple Na Hoku Hanohano and Hawaiian Music Awards entertainer at the 7th Annual Office Professionals’ Day event.
In addition, each office professional will be given a goodie bag with lots of surprises, an opportunity to win one of many great door prizes, and a sumptuous buffet, with two main dishes including Ken’s World Famous prime rib.
