"My laptop was completely ruined when my office flooded. Even the hard disk was wrecked; but I didn't lose a single document."

Van Buren celebrity Illusions It's the first time the cast has played the Opera House. The last show, organised by former Street star Roy Hudd (Archie Shuttleworth) at Stockport Plaza, saw illusionist Andrew Van Buren produce Bolton's comedy hero Peter Kay from an empty cabinet.
And, with Andrew on the bill again, we are curious to see which special guest will come out of the box this time.
Producer, Peter Shaw, says: "One of the joys of this show is that the audience doesn't know who will appear next or what they will do."
The night, to raise funds for The Variety Club, will see Corrie favourites as you've never seen them before.
So far, more than 20 of the cast have agreed to take part, including, Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald), Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw), Sally Lindsay (Shelley Unwin), Malcolm Hebden (Norris Cole) and Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth).
The audience can expect to see comedy sketches, singing and tap dancing, but what party pieces each actor is busy rehearsing is being kept closely under wraps for now.
The Coronation Street Variety Show is at the Opera House on Sunday, April 18 2004.
